2017 Ladies Conference “Together”

Guest Speakers and Miracle Testimony:

Vesta Layne Mangun (Alexandria, Louisiana) Widow of the late G. A. Mangun, Bishop of The Pentecostals of Alexandria  (67 years of marriage); One son, Anthony Mangun, Senior Pastor of The Pentecostals of Alexandria; Daughter-in-law, Mickey Mangun; Two Grandchildren, Miquell Mangun Hennigan, wife of Jeffrey Hennigan, and Gentry Mangun; Two Great-Grandchildren, Eva and Gibson Hennigan.

In 1950 after seven years of evangelizing Vesta Layne Mangun, her husband and infant son, moved to Alexandria, Louisiana, to pastor.   At that time, some 35 members voted on them.   Today, under the leadership of their son, Senior Pastor Anthony Mangun, there is a 2500 seat facility with a youth facility and a Family Life Center housing sports/recreation facilities and Sunday School classrooms.  The daughter of an East Texas pioneer minister, Royal D. Gibson, and his wife, Eula, Vesta Mangun is a featured speaker at conferences and camp meetings across our nation and around the world.   In addition, she is an anointed vocalist and musician. She has five professionally recorded music projects:  “A Little Light”,  “I’m Thankful”, “Shoutin’ on the Hills”, “The Manguns:  Together Always”, “An Altar in My Life”.  Vesta Mangun was invited to sing at the inauguration of two Louisiana Governors.

She has published two books and two pamphlets:  “The Best of Vesta Mangun”, “Vesta Mangun Continues”,  “Desire”,  “Charge!”  In 2015, she was honored to be selected as one of the YWCA 2015 Decades of Women (Central Louisiana area) representing women of the 80s decade (of age).  At the time of conference, she will be 91 years young.

Janice Sjöstrand, EdD, is a professional educator and alumna of the University of Arkansas.  During her professional career, she has served as high school classroom teacher of Spanish and English, secondary administrator for English as a Second Language, guest lecturer at the University of Arkansas, and motivational speaker for various venues throughout the United States.  Currently, she serves on the UC/UGST Board of Trustees.  Also a musician and vocalist, Janice has written numerous songs, among which is “Alabaster Box,” recorded by CeCe Winans.

Janice ministers with her husband at Christian Apostolic Church in Newark, Ohio, where she lives with her family: 2 daughters, 1 son-in-law, and 2 granddaughters.  She continues to travel and is a featured speaker at numerous church conferences nationally and internationally.

On Saturday Morning featured Miracle Testimony by:

“Sis. Katy Collins lives in Joplin, MO where she teaches 6th grade and attends Peace Tabernacle UPC. Previously, she lived in Indianapolis and taught at Calvary Christian School for 6 years. She has been an AIMer in New Delhi, India and Mexico City, Mexico and has taught Sunday School at the College and Career level.”
